Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S23 only gets version with Snapdragon soc
The Samsung Galaxy S23 may be globally equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 soc and will not have its own Exynos processor. The South Korean manufacturer usually uses the Exynos version in, among other things, European versions of devices in the S series.
The well-known analyst Ming Chi Kuo is expecting that Qualcomm will likely become the sole processor supplier for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23. The Exynos 2300 being made by Samsung may not be able to compete with the Snapdragon equivalent. According to WinFuture journalist Roland Quandt the Exynos 2300 was still in development at the end of May.
Seventy percent of Galaxy S22 models uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The other thirty percent have the Exynos 2200 with AMD’s Xclipse 920 GPU. The next generation Snapdragon soc may use TSMC’s 4nm process.
Due to delivery problems, the Exynos version of the device was delivered to fewer countries than the year before, namely only in the European Union. In Asia and the United States, the S22 was equipped with Qualcomm’s soc.
