According to a rumor, Capcom will release Resident Evil 8 next year and the horror game will use a first-person perspective. The game would have been in development as Resident Evil Revelations 3, but is now released as part eight.

The eighth installment in the Resident Evil series would focus on hallucinations, occultism, madness and not being able to rely on others. With such themes and the first-person perspective, the game would be quite different from its predecessors.

That would be because the game was initially developed as Revelations 3, the third installment in the spin-off of the Resident Evil series. However, testers would have been so excited about the game that Capcom decided to release the game in the primary series. Also, the publisher would not want a long time between the release of Resident Evil 7 and 8. Part 7 came out early 2017. The new game would be developed for both current consoles and next-gen consoles.

The information comes from AsetheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, which regularly shares information about unreleased horror games. He has previously shared accurate information about the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake, but his rumor that several Silent Hill games are in development was debunked by Konami. Whether he is right about Resident Evil 8 remains to be seen.
