Redfall will reportedly be released in the first week of May 2023. This is reported by sources from Windows Central, but also by other parties. In addition, the game may receive an early access period for this.

Before Windows Central dived inclaimed Twitter user Okami Games and ResetEra user Klobrille all that Redfall would see the light of day in the month of May. The Windows news site took those claims to their sources within Microsoft and its subsidiaries, who corroborate the claims. The game’s early access, if any, is described as similar to Forza Horizon 5, which was available to pre-ordered players about five days before release.

Redfall is the upcoming fps game from Arkane Studios, the creators of Deathloop, Dishonored, and Prey. Unlike those titles, this one gets a cooperative multiplayer mode. That’s new for the studio. Arkane has made competitive multiplayer before, in Deathloop and in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

The game takes place in the town of Redfall, Massachusetts. Vampires have invaded the city and it’s up to a team of up to four players to fend off this invasion. In addition, they will also have to fight against human supporters of the vampires. The game, like previous titles, must have a immersive sim which means that there should be a lot of room to bend the various game mechanics to the player’s liking. One of the game’s directors is Harvey Smith, who also played a key role in the development of Deus Ex.

Redfall will be released for the Xbox Series X and S and Windows. As is often the case with Microsoft’s first party games, it will be available immediately through Game Pass.
