Images have been leaked of Sony’s Project Q handheld, which can be used to stream PlayStation 5 games. The images show, among other things, that the device appears to run on Android.

The video and photos have been shared by Twitter user Zuby_Tech, but where they originally came from is unclear. Insider Gaming says to verify the authenticity of the images. The images show a simple test menu based on the Android operating system. This is probably a very early version of the menu, but Sony does not appear to be developing a custom operating system for this handheld. The video shows, among other things, the QC Test app. This may mean that the device contains a Qualcomm chipset. In addition, a photo of the handheld with the screen removed is shown.

Little is known about this Project Q handheld. Sony announced the device in May. The portable console consists of an 8″ LCD screen with handles, sticks and triggers on both sides that look a lot like the Dualsense controller. The PlayStation 5 can also stream games to the handheld via a WiFi connection, but more information is not yet available. not known.

Microsoft wrote in a court document last month that Sony plans to release a PS5 handheld this year that will cost up to $300. This probably refers to Project Q. Insider Gaming claims that the handheld should be released in November.
