OnePlus is slated to announce and release its OnePlus 9 series of smartphones for March next year, Android Central reports. In recent years, the Chinese manufacturer announced its smartphones in April or May.

The company has not yet set the exact date, but the intention is to release it in mid-March, Android Central says, based on an anonymous source. The site has proven more than once to have solid information about unannounced Android phones. The OnePlus 8T came out recently.

If the information is correct, it is in line with a previous rumor about the Samsung Galaxy S21, which should be released in January. This may indicate that the soc used in both phones, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, is available earlier than its predecessors were in previous years. Samsung equips its Galaxy S phones in several parts of the world with Qualcomm socs, while in Europe the models often appear with their own Exynos processors. Samsung is making the upcoming 5nm socs for Qualcomm. The presentation of the soc is likely to be on December 1.

The Chinese manufacturer would like to release various midrange models for the OnePlus 9. There are rumors about two models: the Nord N10 5G for the US market and the Nord N100 in other parts of the world. In both cases, these are cheaper models than the current Nord smartphone.
