According to the Taiwanese newspaper DigiTimes, Nvidia will release the GTX 1660 video card on March 15 for $229. A GTX 1650 variant for $179 would follow on April 30. The two cards fall under the $279 GTX 1660 Ti that recently came out.

According to DigiTimes sources, Nvidia would like to increase its turnover again with the expansions in the lower segment. Also, the cards would be intended to bring AMD’s market share down to 25 or 20 percent.

There have been rumors for some time about the arrival of the GTX 1660 and GTX 1650. For example, HardOCP already told at the end of January that the cards are coming, that website at the time mentioned the same prices as DigiTimes now does. HardOCP also predicted the arrival of the GTX 1660 Ti for 279 dollars, which turned out to be correct.

Presumably, the GTX 1660 is based on the same TU116 GPU as the Ti version, but it is a variant with fewer cudacores and possibly also less or slower memory. The GTX 1650 is presumably based on a smaller TU117 GPU.

The euro prices including VAT of the new cards will probably be higher than the dollar prices without taxes. The GTX 1660 Ti, which according to Nvidia is for sale from 279 dollars, is currently in the Pricewatch from 293 euros.
