Rumor: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB memory coming in April
Nvidia may come with a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB of memory. This video card would be on the market in April. According to previous rumors, the company would introduce an RTX 3080 Ti 20GB, but that variant would have been scrapped.
The RTX 3080 Ti 12GB would have 10,240 CUDA cores, reports Twitter user kopite7kimi. That is 1536 more than the regular RTX 3080, which has 8704 CUDA cores. The video card would have Gddr6x memory, although its speed is still unknown. The GPU will probably get a 384-bit memory bus.
VideoCardz claims that the most recent Nvidia roadmap does indeed mention an RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB. The video card is set to release in April, according to that website, although an exact release date has not yet been communicated to the company’s board partners. Such release periods are subject to change, although the RTX 3080 Ti is no longer on hold according to VideoCardz.
There were a lot of rumors about another GeForce RTX 3080 Ti last year. That variant would have 20GB Gddr6x memory. The GPU would also get 10,496 CUDA cores, just like the higher-ranking RTX 3090. The RTX 3080 Ti 20GB appeared at various manufacturers and the Eurasian Economic Commission, but has never been officially announced. This variant of the RTX 3080 Ti would therefore have been scrapped for a model with 12GB of vram and slightly fewer cores.
