Rumor: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 for desktops to be released in Q2 2022

Nvidia may release a GeForce RTX 3050 desktop video card in Q2 2022. That reports tech website VideoCardz based on its own sources. The video card would perform better than the GTX 1660 Super and may have 8GB of memory.

According to VideoCardz, Nvidia is internally testing a PH1290 SKU 70 video card, which has a GA106-150 GPU. earlier rumors circulated that such a gpu would be used in a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, but VideoCardz sources state that it is a ‘regular’ GeForce RTX 3050. The GA106-150 GPU may have 3072 CUDA cores.

Anonymous sources tell the tech website that the GeForce RTX 3050 may have 8GB of memory. The video card would perform better than the current GeForce GTX 1660 Super. At the same time, the RTX 3050 is said to be slower than the alleged GeForce RTX 2060 12GB, which is scheduled to be released in December. With this, the GeForce RTX 3050 has to compete with the upcoming Radeon RX 6500 XT, about which details have recently appeared. An Intel Arc desktop graphics card with 128 execution units is also expected in this performance segment.

Nvidia is said to be working on several other RTX 30 video cards. For example, the company is said to be working on a 16GB variant of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and a 12GB version of the RTX 3080. An RTX 3090 Ti is also expected, with 10,752 CUDA cores and possibly faster memory than the regular RTX 3090. These GPUs would all be introduced in January 2022.
