Rumor: Nintendo Switch Online is getting Super Nintendo games

A Twitter user claims he found references to 22 SNES games in a string in the code of Nintendo Switch Online. He reports that this series was added with the most recent update. Nintendo has not yet responded substantively to the claim.

Twitter user kapu shows its findings in a Pastebin document. The series includes Super Mario World, F-Zero, Star Fox and Super Metroid. Nintendo has yet to comment on the claim. In addition, it is not yet known when the games will be released and in what order, as far as Kapu’s claim is correct.

Currently, only NES games are part of the Nintendo Switch Online offering. Starting January 16, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Blaster Master will be available to subscribers.
