Rumor: next budget model iPad will not have a 3.5mm connection
Renders have surfaced of what may be Apple’s next iPad. Based on information and renders from suppliers, the budget-friendly version of the tablet seems to be getting a redesign that is in line with other models. The 3.5mm jack seems to disappear.
MySmartPrice got the renders of the suspected 10th generation iPad through a manufacturer of covers. It shows a new design of the tablet that is very similar to that of the iPad Air and iPad Pro models. The dimensions of the render model are according to MySmartPrice 248.62mm x 179.50mm x 6.98mm. This would make the next generation thinner and wider than the current iPad. A home button can also be seen on the renders. The entry-level iPad is the only tablet from Apple’s line-up that still has this button available.
On the back one can see a single camera lens, with space for a flash light underneath. At the bottom of the model on the render, cutouts for the internal speakers can also be seen, as well as a presumed USB-C connection. What cannot be seen on the renders is a 3.5mm jack connection. According to MySmartPrice, the new iPad will also have a larger screen than the 10.2-inch panel that is now in the cheapest iPad.
