Rumor: new HTC U will get control via touch-sensitive sides
According to telecom insider Evan Blass, HTC will announce the third device in the U-series in April. The new model would simply be called HTC U, equipped with a Snapdragon 835-soc and a housing with ‘Edge Sense’ edges that are touch sensitive.
Instead of physical buttons on the side, the HTC U gets touch-sensitive sides. Its functionality depends on what is displayed on the screen. According to the source, the HTC U is equipped with Sense 9, a new version of HTC’s Android shell, based on Android 7.1. The device has a metal housing and a 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The cameras are said to be similar to those of the U Ultra, but HTC is said to use a newer Sony sensor.
