Rumor: Microsoft is working on successor Lumia 1320 with PureView camera
Microsoft would like to release a successor to its Lumia 1320 in 2015, a large Windows Phone device with a relatively low price. The device would have a PureView camera on board with a maximum resolution of fourteen megapixels.
With a diagonal of 5.7″ the screen would be smaller than the 6″ panel of the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520. The screen resolution would be 1280×720 pixels. The first details of the device already came out through a presentation by advertising company AdDuplex in November, but NPU has now been told that Microsoft will present the device at the beginning of March next year at the telecom fair Mobile World Congress. In addition, Microsoft will also release a new version of Windows Phone, 8.1 Update 2.
In this large smartphone, Microsoft would place a PureView camera on the back with a maximum resolution of fourteen megapixels. It would be the first time that Microsoft puts such a camera on a midrange phone: the Lumia 1320 currently costs around 240 euros. The front camera would have a maximum resolution of five megapixels.
Microsoft would equip the successor to the Lumia 1320 with a Snapdragon 400 from Qualcomm. With that, the manufacturer does not seem to choose a newer soc from Qualcomm, such as the Snapdragon 410 or 610.
