Rumor: Microsoft is coming with a flat Xbox One controller for the disabled
A photo has appeared of a possible new type of game controller for the Xbox One. The controller is thin and flat and has two large pads. The controller would mainly be intended for gamers who cannot handle the normal controller well due to a limitation.
The Twitter account Walking Cat has A picture of the flat Xbox One controller, showing two large, round, black pads. It’s about the a- and b-pad. In addition to these large round pads and the traditional d-pad, there are no buttons specifically intended for use in games. It is not clear if and when the controller will be released. Microsoft may announce more during the annual keynote at the E3 fair, which takes place on June 10.
At the top of the controller are all kinds of symbols engraved that probably correspond to different functions on the Xbox One. These symbols may be touch-sensitive, so that, for example, visually impaired people can easily navigate through various functions and menus. These symbols may also be programmable for certain functions.
Windows Central reports that a triple LED is included in the controller, which is placed directly above the d-pad. This LED corresponds to the LED on any new Xbox One Elite controller. This indicates that there may be several programs that can be set, with the LED indicating which program is active. A USB port and a 3.5mm jack can be seen on the left.
