Rumor: LG will release 42″ TV with OLED panel early next year
LG is said to be planning to release a TV with 42″ OLED screen early next year. It was previously expected that the TV would appear this year, but the manufacturer has reportedly postponed the release slightly. The presentation would take place at the electronics fair CES.
The television is part of next year’s line-up, The Korean Economic Daily reports based on its own sources. The TV would mainly be aimed at gamers, reports the South Korean business newspaper. Many consumers often want larger models for other purposes. The most popular size is 55″.
LG Display said earlier this year to start production of the necessary panels. LG has OLED TVs in the sizes 88, 83, 77, 65, 55 and 48″, but the smaller version would be added later this year. The smaller variants are in demand; LG said earlier this year that the production of the 48″ screens.
The presentation of the 42″ TV may take place during the Consumer Electronics Show, an electronics show where many manufacturers show new televisions. The show will take place in early January and if the physical version goes ahead as planned, it will take place in early January in Las Vegas.
