LG will come next year with a new phone in its G Flex line of smartphones with curved OLED screens. So far, the South Korean manufacturer has released two such phones, the last one early last year.

With the next generation of its G Flex phones, LG wants to show its new OLED screens. These poled screens, named after the plastic substrate of the screen, can allow the screen to be bent into all kinds of shapes, including around the edges of the housing. As a result, LG can be the first manufacturer to make a smartphone without bezels, claims ‘smartphone nice’ Evan Blas, aka @evleaks, on Venturebeat.

In 2014 and 2015, LG came up with G Flex phones with curved screens, but that series did not get a sequel in 2016. Recently, the manufacturer focused on other additions, such as a second LCD above the screen that serves as a ticker for the V10, among others.

LG produces its own OLED screens, just like Samsung does. Samsung regularly releases smartphones with curved screens, such as the S6 Edge, S7 Edge and reportedly soon the Note 7. However, these still have bezels on the sides, about two millimeters wide.
