Rumor: LG puts battery with 15 percent higher capacity in G6 compared to G5
LG is reportedly putting a 15 percent larger battery in the G6 than the manufacturer used in the G5. The South Korean ETNews claims that it is a battery with a capacity of more than 3200mAh. It is now clear that Huawei equips the P10 with a 3100mAh battery.
The battery of around 3200mAh is the largest that LG has put in its G series of phones so far, ETNews claims. The G5 has a 2850mAh battery, while previous G devices from the G2 have a 3000mAh battery on board. The larger battery should lead to better battery life for the G6 than its predecessor G5 has.
Although the battery of the G6 with that capacity would be larger than that in other high-end models from LG, the manufacturer has phones with larger batteries in the pipeline. According to an earlier rumor, the manufacturer will launch the X Power 2 this spring, which has a 4500mAh battery.
Huawei is now putting a 3100mAh battery in its P10, according to an inspection report from the American body FCC. It was previously clear that the phone would appear this spring together with the P10 Plus.
Both manufacturers will hold an event about a week and a half before the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona to introduce the new phones. LG will start on Sunday, February 26 at noon, Huawei will follow at two o’clock.
