Rumor: Lenovo is working on Motorola Razr with folding screen
Lenovo is working on a Motorola Razr with a folding screen, according to a new rumor. The phone should be released in the United States next month and it may cost more than $1500.
The release in February is not yet certain, because the device is still in the test phase, reports business newspaper The Wall Street Journal. The Razr smartphone should be released by the American provider Verizon Wireless. It is unknown if and when the device should be released outside the US.
It wouldn’t be the first foldable smartphone. Royole has released the FlexPai, with a folding screen on the outside. Samsung hints at announcing its first foldable model with a screen inside on February 20. The manufacturer announced the event and put up posters in the French capital Paris with the text ‘the future unfolds’.
Motorola released some Android smartphones under the Razr name seven years ago, including the Razr I with Intel processor. The name refers to the Motorola Razr from 2004, for many years the best-selling phone in the United States. The Razr name makes sense for a foldable smartphone, as the original Razr is a folding phone.
