Lenovo is purchasing a foldable 13-inch OLED panel from LG Display for a tablet that the company is working on. Korean media report this, based on sources within the tech industry. The product should appear in the second half of next year.
LG Display is said to have entered into a non-disclosure agreement with Lenovo for the plans with the foldable 13-inch panel, the Korean ETNews writes. A source from the site claims that the development process for the tablet has started and delivery should take place in the second half of 2019. , without giving further details about the product.
LG Display declined to confirm the report, but ETNews quotes the company as saying that “a tablet or notebook is more suitable for a foldable panel, given its durability and usability.” Unlike a smartphone, a tablet would not have to be folded many times every day, which is better for its lifespan.
