Rumor: iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a slightly larger camera sensor than its predecessor
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is reportedly getting a primary camera with a 1/1.14″ sensor. That’s an improvement over the iPhone 14 Pro, which has a 1/1.28″ sensor. The resolution of 48 megapixels, on the other hand, would remain unchanged.
The iPhone 14 Pro had a Sony IMX803 sensor, while the 15 Pro gets an IMX903 sensor for the primary camera. That claims leaker Ice Universe on Twitter. As a result, the camera probably sticks out a bit more. Renders of the ‘regular’ iPhone 15 Pro were leaked earlier. There was also a more excellent camera on display. It’s not clear if that device will get the same Sony sensor. The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max both had the same camera.
According to earlier rumours iPhone 15 Pro Max is the only one in the series to include a periscope lens that offers 5x to 6x magnification over the primary camera. The iPhone 14 Pro, on the other hand, offers 3x magnification. The aforementioned iPhone 15 Pro renders showed capacitive buttons on the device, but according to later rumors, Apple decided to fall back on mechanical buttons.
