Rumor: Huawei wants to release HarmonyOS 2.0 for existing phones
Huawei is planning to release its own HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system for existing phones. Among them are phones with the Mate 30 Pro and P40 soc, but later also those with the P30 series soc. The information comes from China via a Weibo post with the likely roadmap, so it’s obvious concerns the Chinese versions of the telephones. It is unknown whether this will also happen in Europe, but that is not obvious. Phones with the aforementioned socs will in some cases have Google services, which will not run on HarmonyOS 2.0. The first phones to get HarmonyOS will run on the Kirin 9000-soc which will be included in the Mate 40. This is followed by support for the Kirin 990 from the P40 series and Mate 30 Pro. Next comes support for the Kirin 820 from the P40 Lite and fourth, the Kirin 980 from the P30 series and Mate 20 phones, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 2.0 earlier this month. The beta will run on phones from December, after which the stable firmwares for current phones won’t follow until next year. It is not known what the interface will look like and Huawei has not confirmed anything about supported phones.
