Rumor: Huawei Mate X2 has no screen on the outside
The Huawei Mate X2, which would be the successor to the Mate Xs released earlier this year, no longer has the screen on the outside of the phone. Instead, the screen can be found on the inside of the case.
According to Ross Young, director of Display Supply Chain Consultants, the phone will resemble a concept that Techconfigurations put online five months ago. Young says to have seen the device. DSCC is an analyst firm for the screen market and Young previously posted data on the upcoming Motorola Razr.
Like the Mate X and Mate Xs, the Mate X2 would have an OLED screen of 8.03 “, but instead of on the outside, the screen would be on the inside, just like Samsung’s foldable smartphones. The strip is on the side. there is a small screen under the cameras containing the fingerprint scanner. The large OLED screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz and would come from Samsung and BOE.
Young emphasizes that the images are a concept and not the final product. It is still unknown when Huawei would like to show the Mate X2. The next logical moment is during the presentation of the Mate 40 in the autumn.
