Rumor: HTC announces successor One M8 on March 1

HTC is going to show new products on the eve of the Mobile World Congress. The successor of the HTC One M8 will probably be presented then. Possible specifications of the smartphone have recently appeared, but it is not clear which are correct.

HTC announces in a statement with the text what’s next that the company will show new products on March 1. The electronics giant does not give more indications, but it is probably the successor of the HTC One M8. The World Congress will be held in Barcelona from 2 to 5 March.

The specifications of the device would have been leaked earlier. It is reportedly a model with a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. A 20.7-megapixel camera would be built in. PhoneArena, however, suggested that it had a 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. and a 16-megapixel camera.

The smartphone is rumored to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810-soc, an octacore with four Cortex A57 cores at 2GHz and four Cortex A53 cores at 1.7GHz. However, PhoneArena previously pointed to the presence of a Snapdragon 805 soc. The battery would also have a capacity of 2840mAh or 3500mAh.
