Rumor: Google will release two of its own smartwatches in early 2017
In the first quarter of 2017, Google will release two smartwatches that run on Android Wear 2.0. That’s what Evan Blass, known for his Twitter account @evleaks, claims. Renders already appeared in July that may show the design of the two watches.
Blass shows on his Twitter account in addition to the period when the smartwatches are expected and what version of the operating system they use no new details. He does, however, place the image that appeared earlier with his tweet. Evan Blass is known for publishing information about smartphones and related accessories before they are officially released.
According to previous rumors, the round watches will have integration with Google Assistant. Now that Google has introduced the Pixel smartphones with the same assistant, that seems a certainty. The watches would be known by the code names Angelfish and Swordfish, the former is a larger model, which probably has a heart rate monitor. Presumably, the smaller watch will not get that feature.
