Rumor: Google Pixel foldable phone will cost $1400
The foldable Google Pixel Notepad will be released internationally at the end of this year and will cost $ 1399 in the US. That’s what 9to5Google claims. This would mean that the foldable smartphone will cost less than the Galaxy Z Fold3 from market leader Samsung.
Priced at $1,399, the Pixel Notepad is $400 below the Z Fold3, according to 9to5Google. The site has heard the price from multiple sources within Google. The news site has built up a good track record of information about unannounced Google products and services. The price has not been finalized at this stage, the site said.
The Pixel Notepad would have the same Google Tensor soc as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The camera would be a Sony IMX363, which Google also used in the Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, 4a 5G, 5 and 5a. That would be because the 50-megapixel camera from the Pixel 6 would be too large to use in the foldable smartphone. In addition, there would be a Sony IMX386, also a 12-megapixel sensor but with an ultra-wide-angle lens in front. In terms of size, the Pixel Notepad is said to be closer to the OPPO Find N than to the Z Fold3.
Rumors of a foldable Google Pixel phone have been circulating for over a year now. In recent months, many smartphone makers came up with foldable phones. In addition to Samsung, Huawei and Motorola, which have been making foldable phones for several years, Xiaomi, OPPO and Honor also came with foldable devices. Most of the new folding models so far only come out in China.
