Rumor: Google foldable phone release delayed again

Rumor has it that the foldable Google Pixel has been delayed again. The smartphone should now be on the market in 2023, various sources report. The smartphone has not been announced by Google.

The rumor is originating from South Korean site TheElec, which reports that Google has planned to release its foldable smartphone by the end of 2022. The tech giant is said to have postponed release to 2023. Also Ross Young of analyst firm DSCC reports that several sources say the foldable phone has been postponed to next year.

According to rumors earlier this year, the foldable Pixel phone should cost $1400 in the US. The phone is said to have the same camera as in the Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, 4a 5G, 5 and 5a. In addition, the folding screen would have a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Google hasn’t announced anything about a foldable Pixel phone yet. However, the company recently announced the Pixel 7. The smartphone should appear together with the Pixel Watch later this year.
