Rumor: Fujifilm X-T3 will get 26.1 megapixel sensor and 4k video mode at 60fps
The usually reliable Japanese camera blog Nokishita has put specifications of the Fujifilm X-T3 system camera online. According to the website, the camera will get a new 26.1 megapixel sensor and can be filmed in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second.
The specifications that Nokishita has published correspond to what previous rumors have already reported. The X-T3 gets a newly developed X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor with a resolution of 26.1 megapixels and without a low-pass filter. The camera also gets a new image processor, the X-Processor 4. The number of focus points is not mentioned, but the phase detection would use the entire sensor. The electronic viewfinder has a resolution of 3.69 million pixels and a magnification of 0.75x. The predecessor, the X-T2 has an EVF with 2.36 million pixels and a magnification of 0.77x.
You can make video images in 4k resolution and at 60 frames per second, with 4:2:2 subsampling and a 10bit HDMI output also supported. A function would also have been added that makes the camera start taking a few photos just before the shutter button is pressed; this function is also included on the Panasonic G9.
Earlier rumors spoke of a maximum shooting speed with the electronic shutter of 20 frames per second and 30 frames per second in a 1.25x crop mode. The latter is confirmed in the specifications published by Nokishita, whereby there would be no blackout in the electronic viewfinder. There is no mention of the speed of 20fps without crop. The maximum speed when using the mechanical shutter is 11fps.
Including the battery, the camera weighs 539 grams. The X-T3 uses the same battery as that of the X-T2, with which the new camera can take 390 photos on a single charge. The camera has a USB-C connection, although it is not clear whether it can also be used to recharge the battery.
