Rumor: drawing from iOS 14 shows camera setup ‘iPhone 12 Pro’
A schematic drawing has surfaced online, reportedly from iOS 14, that would show the camera setup of the next-generation iPhone Pro. The drawing shows three camera lenses and a time-of-flight sensor.
The drawing comes from ConceptsiPhone, but only noticed when 9to5Mac paid attention to it after a tweet from Choco_Bit. While ConceptsiPhone normally only creates its own renders based on third-party information, the channel claims that this drawing comes straight from iOS 14.
The drawing shows a set-up with four elements in a square camera island. This probably concerns a camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a regular primary camera and a camera with a telephoto lens. Details of this are currently unknown. The fourth element would be a time-of-flight sensor, as is now also on the iPad Pro. Apple calls the cool sensor on the iPad a lidar sensor.
Apple generally announces new iPhones in September, although the manufacturer is thinking about postponing the release of the new models due to the recent outbreak of the corona virus. Rumors about the upcoming iPhones have been circulating for months. It would be at least three different models with 5G, with screens ranging from 5.42″ to 6.67″.
