Rumor: Dragon Age 4 is slated for release in 2023

Dragon Age 4 is on track for a 2023 release, according to those involved. BioWare announced the highly anticipated fourth main installment of the RPG franchise in 2018. Little new information about the game has been released since then.

Sources confirm to VentureBeat that new information about Dragon Age 4 will not be released until 2022 at the earliest. For now, only a short teaser and concept art of the game are available. BioWare and EA posted on Twitter already know that Dragon Age 4 would not be shown during last Thursday’s EA Play Live event.

The Dragon Age franchise so far includes three renowned main installments made by BioWare, the last of which came out in 2014. The studio is known for RPGs like Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur’s Gate. Between 2009 and 2014, Electronic Arts also released some Dragon Age spin-offs for smartphones and web browsers, among other things. Multiple books, comics, videos, and even a board game were also released around Dragon Age.
