Rumor: DICE Sweden is working on World War II themed Battlefield

The next Battlefield game takes place around World War II. That is the claim of the same person who previously claimed that Bad Company 3 would be the next title in the Battlefield series. According to him, the game will not be released in 2018.

DICE Sweden is the studio making the WW2 version of Battlefield, while DICE LA is responsible for Bad Company 3 is now AlmightyDaq’s claim. He claims that DICE Sweden will build on Battlefield 1 with the upcoming Battlefield game, but in a WW2 setting and with larger maps, among other things. The game would get microtransactions but only for cosmetic display of equipment and weapons, for example. The name under which the game will be released is still unknown.

With the information leak, AlmightyDaq partially retracts its claims earlier this week regarding Bad Company 3. He then reported that that game would be released in 2018 as the next installment in the Battlefield series. In doing so, he released alleged details about that game.

Eurogamer suggests that AlmightyDaq got their hands on information about early ideas related to Bad Company 3. The site has heard from its sources that those ideas were there, but that Bad Company 3 is not currently in development. In the past, AlmightyDaq released accurate details about Battlefield 1 before that game was announced.
