Apple is reportedly introducing a new iMac at its WWDC developer event at the end of this month. The computer would have a modified design, with thinner screen bezels, reminiscent of the iPad Pro and Apple’s XDR display.

According to Sonny Dickson Apple uses the ‘design language’ of the iPad Pro for the new iMac. This should especially be seen on the thinner screen edges. He also says that the new iMac will receive a T2 security chip and will be equipped with an AMD Navi GPU. Also, Apple will no longer supply configurations with Fusion Drive. That is a HDD with a small amount of flash memory. New models will probably only get SSDs.

It is not yet clear which processor Apple will use. According to Bloomberg, Apple will announce the move to ARM chips for Macs at its WWDC event. However, that seems to be a long-term decision. The presence of a Navi GPU also virtually excludes an ARM processor. Apple’s own ARM chips have a powerful GPU on board.

Dickson doesn’t show any images of the new iMac, he just gives a brief description on Twitter. In the past, he has often provided accurate information about unannounced Apple products.
