Apple may release its first MacBook Air with a 15.5″ screen in early April. This is reported by Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young. The analyst says that the screens for this laptop are now being produced.

Ross Young writes in a tweet to his subscribers that Apple has started mass production of 15.5″ MacBook Air screens this month. According to him, the laptops are expected to be available in early April. An announcement and preorders could take place earlier, MacRumors also notes. In the past, Young has regularly shared accurate information about the release and screen specifications of unannounced Apple hardware.

Apple regularly holds an event in the spring where it announces new hardware. For example, last year the tech giant announced its Mac Studio and a new iPad Air on March 8. The year before, the company introduced a new iMac and iPad Pro at the end of April. The company may also launch a 15″ MacBook Air during a spring presentation this year, although Young does not confirm this.

Rumors have been going around for some time about the arrival of a MacBook Air with a 15″ screen. Ross Young already reported about this at the beginning of last year. TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo endorsed that report at the time, but he stated that the laptop would only be released later. would be released in 2023. Bloomberg also said in June that Apple would release a MacBook Air 15″, which would be released “no sooner than spring 2023”.

It would be the first time that Apple has released a MacBook Air with that screen size. Until now, such laptop models have only been released with smaller displays. Little is known about the concrete specifications of the MacBook Air 15″. The laptop may have an M2 chip, but that has not yet been confirmed.
