Rumor: Apple Watch coming in spring
The Apple Watch will be released in Spring 2015. The head of Apple Stores and Apple’s online store would have announced this to employees. Until now, Apple kept it to “early 2015” when it came to the release date.
Angela Ahrendts, who is responsible for Apple’s stores, is said to have mentioned the spring launch in a video message to her employees, 9to5Mac reports. In it, she seems to say that the release will take place after Chinese New Year, which falls on February 19. Spring lasts from March to June.
In the video message, Ahrendts would also say that interested parties in the Apple Stores will be able to put on the Watch. At the moment, all the devices that can be tried in the Apple Store are still chained to the table.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the Apple Watch in early September. The smartwatch can be operated via a square touchscreen, but also with a button on the side that the manufacturer calls the ‘digital crown’. Wearers can enter text by voice or send emojis from the touchscreen. Apple also tries to recognize questions, in order to be able to offer text suggestions. The watch, which has a soc designed by Apple itself, also has support for Apple’s new payment service Pay.
