Rumor: Apple to produce new 4″ metal iPhone in first half of 2016
Apple will start production of a variant of its iPhone 6s with a 4″ screen in the first half of 2016, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. At the moment, Apple does not have a new small iPhone in its range.
The 4″ iPhone is said to be metal and therefore more reminiscent of the 2013 iPhone 5s than the iPhone 5c, according to MacRumors, who has seen a report from Kuo. The analyst is known as the most reliable in the field of information about Apple’s future products and recently he predicted, among other things, the iMacs with wider color reproduction and the two sizes of the Apple Watch.
The iPhone with 4″ screen would run on an Apple A9 soc from the factories of TSMC. That is the same soc as that in the iPhone 6s generation. The 3D Touch function from the iPhone 6s generation would be missing. Other details , such as the resolution of the 4″ screen, the camera and the battery, are not yet known. Mass production should start in the first half of 2016.
There have been rumors of a new 4″ iPhone from Apple for some time, but the manufacturer only released new versions of its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus this year. For the iPhone 7, Apple would again have variants with 4.7″ and 5 screens. .5″. The larger one has a memory size of 3GB, to differentiate it more from the smaller one, which, like the iPhone 6s, would keep it at 2GB. The iPhone 7’s soc, predictably, Apple are called A10.
