Apple is said to have stopped developing a successor to the VR headset Vision Pro, which was released earlier this year. Instead, the manufacturer is only working on a cheaper version of the VR glasses.

The cheaper version should be released at the end of next year, The Information has heard from a supplier. Apple was also working on developing a successor to the $3,500 Vision Pro, but that work is said to have been halted.

The cheaper version should be released at prices in line with the most expensive iPhone. It currently costs around 1450 euros upon release. Previous rumors indicated that Apple is targeting prices between $1,500 and $2,000 for the less expensive headset.

The Vision Pro was released in the US at the beginning of this year and will be released in many more countries next month, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany. The VR headset costs 4,000 euros upon release.
