Rumor: Apple is considering making iPads with larger screens
Apple would consider making iPads with larger screens. They would be released in a few years at the earliest. Currently, the largest iPad Pro has a 12.9″ screen. At the end of 2015, Apple released an iPad with that screen size for the first time.
Apple iPad Pro 12.9″ (2021)
Apple developers and designers are exploring making iPads with larger screens. So say sources to Bloomberg author Mark Gurman. According to Gurman, it is unlikely that larger iPads will come out next year. The focus would then be on an iPad Pro with a new design, with the same 11″ and 12.9″ sizes as the current models.
Apple has been making a model with a 12.9″ screen since the introduction of the iPad Pro in 2015. The screen has a 4:3 ratio and dimensions of about 26.2×19.6 cm. In recent years, the screen bezels have been thinned, but the screen size of the largest iPad is unchanged. Apple has already increased the screen size of the smaller iPad Pro. First they had a 9.7″ screen, later there were 10.5″ variants and the latest versions have an 11″ screen.
$12 billion in App Store revenue in six months
Gurman also shares new figures on App Store revenue. According to analysts at Sensor Tower, Apple achieved $12 billion in download store sales in the first half of this year, an increase of 18 percent from the same period last year.
