Rumor: Apple bundles services with ‘Apple One’ subscriptions
According to financial news agency Bloomberg, Apple plans to combine several of its services in subscriptions under the label ‘Apple One’ from October. There would be three variants of the subscriptions.
Apple would like to unveil the subscriptions in October at the same time as the new iPhones, Bloomberg writes. The aim of the bundling of services is to generate more monthly recurring revenue from the services that have appeared in recent years, such as game service Arcade and news aggregator News +. Customers receive a lower price than when purchasing all services separately. The most expensive option would also offer additional iCloud storage, The Street writes.
In addition to bundling subscriptions, Apple is also working on a project called Seymour, according to Bloomberg. That would allow users to sign up for virtual fitness sessions. These must be able to be followed via apps on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Apple has not responded to the rumor. There have been rumors for some time that Apple wants to bundle services. There was code in iOS 13.5.5 indicating the advent of bundles. Last year it was rumored that Apple wanted to combine its subscriptions in a bundle.
