Apple is rumored to be launching its previously announced mobile game subscription service Apple Arcade for $5 a month. The company has not officially said anything about this yet and will not confirm the information.

Pricing information comes from one of the APIs used by the App Store app, writes developer and 9to5Mac employee Guilherme Rambo. He has shown in the past that he has more accurate information about unannounced Apple products. For example, he put the renders of the iPhone XS, XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 online at an early stage.

Rambo says he found a promotional message in the service stating that Apple Arcade will cost $5 a month, with the first month free. Engadget asked Apple to confirm this information, but the company declined to comment. It is likely that Apple will officially announce the game subscription service on September 10 and provide the necessary additional information, in addition to the announcement of new iPhones.

With the unveiling of Apple Arcade in March, it was already clear that the service will be available in more than 150 countries and regions around the world in the fall. The offer consists of more than a hundred mobile games that cannot be played on any other mobile platform or via any other subscription service. Interested parties do not have to purchase the titles individually and things like additional in-game purchases and advertisements are not an issue. Players can only play the games by downloading them; Apple Arcade is not a streaming service.
