Rumor: Android O will be released on August 21

The new version of the Android operating system will reportedly be released on August 21, according to telecom insider Evan Blass. Google itself has not officially announced a release date, but already released its latest release candidate last month.

Blass made his statement via a Twitter post, in which he reports that Android O will be released the week of August 21, and most likely on August 21 itself. Google itself has not responded to the rumors.

However, Google released its last test version of the new mobile operating system last month. According to the internet giant, the next version is therefore the final version, which means that a release is already expected in the short term; all the more so because a new Android version was also released in August last year.

In Android O, the emphasis is on improving battery management and displaying notifications. It is still unknown what the new version of the OS will be called. Usually Google makes up names that have something to do with sweets.
