The Android 5.0 update for existing Nexus devices such as the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 will be released on November 12, according to a new rumor. Google would like to fix some bugs before offering the update with Android Lollipop to users.

The update was originally scheduled to be released this week, but Google has pushed it back by about a week, Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii reported on Google+ in response to his own post. He bases this on an unnamed source. Android Police is known for publishing accurate information about unreleased Google products and software.

Android 5.0 Lollipop for existing Nexus devices was expected to be released last Monday, as the new Nexus 9 went on sale and the first copies of the Nexus 6 would be delivered. Russakovskii does not report which bugs have prevented the release.

Google announced Android 5.0 as Android L in June and provided more details last month. With the new version of the operating system, Android gets many new features and functions, such as notifications on the lock screen, and a design that Google describes as ‘material design’. Google has already updated many apps with that ‘material design’ in recent weeks, such as the Play Store, Calendar and Gmail. Android 5.0 is out for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013), and the Nexus 10.
