Rumor: AMD Radeon RX 6700 graphics cards will get 12GB of GDDR6 memory
Some possible specifications of AMD’s upcoming RX 6700 and RX 6700 XT GPUs have appeared online. The video cards would both receive 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The possible power consumption of the RX 6700 cards has also appeared online.
The information comes from Twitter user Patrick Schur . This leaker has shared correct information more often in the past. For example, in September he mentioned the correct specifications of various Ryzen Embedded V2000 chips . AMD officially announced these chips in November .
According to Schur, the RX 6700 and RX 6700 XT video cards both get a Navi 22 GPU and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. That is consistent with previous rumors. Schur also expects the RX 6700 XT to have a power consumption of between 186W and 211W. The RX 6700 may receive a power consumption of 146 to 156W, although the leaker indicates that the power consumption of this GPU may be lower. The total graphics power of the current RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT are 250W and 300W respectively.
According to previous rumors, the RX 6700 XT video card will get 40 compute units , with which the GPU has 2560 stream processors , as VideoCardz writes . It is still unknown how many CPUs the RX 6700 will get. The Navi 22 GPUs would also have a 192-bit memory bus. The GPUs will probably also get Infinity Cache . It is not yet known when AMD will release the RX 6700 video cards. According to rumors, the manufacturer will announce these GPUs in January 2021.
