Rumor: Amazon releases speaker with screen on June 28 for 239 euros

Amazon would like to present its speaker with screen this week and release it on June 28 for 239 euros. That reports the same site that first released an image of the speaker last week.

With a price of 239 euros, the speaker is more expensive than other models in the Echo line of speakers. The most expensive to date, the Echo Look, is a speaker with camera that is on sale by invitation for $199. The speaker with 7 “screen will be called Echo Show, AFTVNews reports.

The speaker would go on sale on Tuesday. Little is known about the functionality of the speaker. The screen would presumably show results of voice commands that digital assistant Alexa processes. Until now, Alexa worked purely with speech in both the question and the answer.

The render that appeared online earlier showed a speaker with a screen that could show the time, weather and agenda items. Amazon released the first smart speaker with the Echo for a few years, but the company now has competition. For example, Google released its own speaker with Home and Apple would like to release a Siri speaker.
