Rumor: Amazon is working on Echo wall-mounted device
According to Bloomberg, Amazon is working on an Echo device that users can mount on walls. There will reportedly be a 10″ and a 13″ model, and it should serve as a sort of command center for all smart home devices linked to it.
Users should also be able to video chat and play music with it, Bloomberg writes. The site does not publish any photos of the device, but it should at least have a touchscreen, microphone and camera on board. Amazon Alexa also runs on it, of course. Thanks to the fact that the device is supposed to be mounted on a wall, it can be much more compact than the Echo Show, which is supposed to sit on a surface.
The device is said to be released at the end of this year or sometime next year, possibly for a price of 200 to 250 dollars. However, Bloomberg emphasizes that the plans can still be canceled or changed. If the 13″ model does make it to the market, it will be the Echo device with the largest screen to date. The first Echo wall-mounted device is not, that was the Echo Wall Clock.
