Rumor: All iPhone 15 models will get Dynamic Island
All iPhones introduced next year may have a screen with a Dynamic Island notch. That reports DSCC analyst Ross Young. The feature is currently available exclusively on iPhone 14 Pro models.
Ross Young writes on Twitter that Dynamic Island is also expected for the iPhone 15 standard models. This would eventually make the feature available as standard in all new iPhones. Young doesn’t expect the base models to get an ltpo panel next year. With this, only the iPhone 15 Pro devices would receive 120Hz and always-on support.
The Dynamic Island is an elongated, pill-shaped notch in the screen that houses the selfie camera and Face ID hardware. Apple introduced the feature in the iPhone 14 Pro devices. The feature is combined with the iOS UI to function as a sort of notification bar. In addition to notifications, things such as weather forecasts, system notifications such as incoming telephone calls and, in the long term, information notifications from third-party apps are also shown.
Young is an analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants and has shared accurate information about Apple hardware in the past. Rather, he predicted that the iPhone 13 Pro series and new MacBook Pro models would receive support for ProMotion. He also early shared the correct screen sizes of several Apple devices, such as the MacBook Air with M2-soc and the new iPad Mini.
