Rules feature appears on Google Pixel phone owners in settings
Several Pixel phone owners report that the Rules feature has become active with them. This feature lets users, for example, put the phone on silent when they arrive at a certain location. The phone suggests the feature based on usage patterns.
Google seems to be gradually activating the function with more and more users, 9to5Google reports. Users can connect it to a Wi-Fi network or use an estimate of its location as a trigger to switch modes. It is then possible to silence the phone or turn on Do Not Disturb at that location. The function is located under System Rules in the settings.
That feature is now appearing on Pixel phones, but has been available for some time from some other manufacturers. For example, Motorola started offering a possibility to switch the sound off or on based on the location years ago. Apps such as Tasker also made this possible on Android. On iOS, there is Shortcuts.
