Nvidia has upgraded its game streaming service for Chrome and Edge browsers. Previously, the web version of the service was limited to 1080p and 60fps, but that has now been increased to 1440p and 120fps. This only applies to the RTX 3080 GeForce Now subscription.

Subscribers who want to use this option can use the web version of GeForce Now select the resolution of up to 2560×1440 pixels and the refresh rate of 120fps. This is only open to GeForce Now’s RTX 3080 subscribers.

This combination of 1440p resolution and 120fps was previously available on PC and Mac for GeForce Now subscribers specifically with the RTX 3080 subscription, but then a special app was needed. On the Nvidia Shield TV, 4k with HDR and 60fps is the maximum.

The RTX 3080 plan was launched late last year as the most expensive option within GeForce Now; this costs 20 euros per month. The Priority subscription costs 10 euros per month and also includes ray tracing, but does not go beyond 1080p and 60fps. The RTX 3080 name does not mean that Nvidia’s video cards of the same name are used for cloud gaming.
