RTS game Iron Harvest hits Kickstarter target in 36 hours
The real-time strategy game Iron Harvest, which resembles the strategy game Company of Heroes in gameplay, has reached its funding target on Kickstarter within 36 hours, according to developer King Art Games.
The Kickstarter campaign started on Tuesday and the desired amount of more than 363,000 euros was almost reached on Wednesday evening. The counter now stands at 413,000 euros and there are a total of almost 6500 supporters. The fundraising campaign will officially run until April 14. The makers of Iron Harvest report that if the financial support continues like this, almost any additional goals or stretch goals could be achieved.
At the moment there is already enough money to set up the foundation of the game and various campaigns. If the amount rises to a million euros, a multiplayer part will be added to the game and with even more income, co-op modes and possibly a free DLC campaign will be added.
Iron Harvest is set in an alternate reality of the 1920s, where strange mechanical robots and machines can be found on the battlefield and where secret forces try to destabilize Europe. The strategy game is based on images by the Polish artist Jakub Rozalski.
The game is tactically similar to the gameplay of Company of Heroes. Players have to conquer the battlefield with a group of units, where using cover is very important. Resource points must also be taken to create additional units and buildings and to do research.
