Rovio comes with Angry Birds 2
Finnish game maker Rovio will present Angry Birds 2 in two weeks. This is apparent from an invitation that the developer has sent to media. Further details of the game are currently unknown.
With the naming of Angry Birds 2, Rovio seems to refer specifically to the game as the successor to the first Angry Birds game, which appeared in 2009 for mobile platforms. Since the release of Angry Birds, many derivatives of the game have appeared, such as Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds: Transformers, Angry Birds: Star Wars and racing game Angry Birds Go.
The invitation to the presentation on July 28, which IGN put online, among other things, shows the well-known characters and the slogan ‘bigger, badder, birdier’. Like with the first version, it is probably a game for mobile platforms such as iOS, Android and perhaps Windows.
The Finnish developer could use a new success. Rovio had to lay off 130 people last year due to disappointing results. It has so far not been able to build another successful franchise besides the Angry Birds series.
