Rogue Legacy 2 launches April 28 for PC and Xbox consoles
Rogue Legacy 2 will be released on April 28 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. The game was in Early Access development for two years, but will be released as a full version at the end of April.
Developer Cellar Door Games writes Thursday in a message that the development process is complete and that the game will be officially released later this month. The sequel to Rogue Legacy has been playable since 2020 via Early Access on Steam and the Epic Game Store.
Rogue Legacy 2 is designed slightly differently than its predecessor. The game, according to the developer, features a 2.5D design, with 3D-like characters and a hand-drawn background, while the original game had a more pixelated design. In addition, part two contains improvements to the ‘Traits’ system, new items and options to make the game easier.
The original Rogue Legacy came out in 2013. Like the first game in the series, Rogue Legacy 2 is a “roguelite” according to the developer. When characters die in the game, gamers continue playing as that character’s child. Each ‘generation’ has unique characteristics, making each ‘run’ different. This concept will be continued in the upcoming part.
