Rockstar warns of phishing via fake invites for ‘beta’ GTA V
Rockstar has warned against phishing on its website. According to Rockstar, invitations via email are currently circulating that would give access to a so-called beta test of GTA V. However, the developer emphasizes that there is no official beta.
There is no beta test for GTA V, according to the statement on Rockstar’s website. The publisher informs its supporters that serious consideration must be given to phishing, whereby personal information is stolen. In addition, if downloads are offered, it is most likely files that contain malicious content. The developer refers to its own website for official news about upcoming releases.
GTA V has been available for over a year now for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and the game will be released on November 18 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC gamers come last and have to wait a few months: the PC version of GTA V will only be available in stores on January 27.
