Rockstar has announced that on March 6, it will be discontinuing the ability to transfer a GTA Online account from a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.

Ending the option means that players who purchase Grand Theft Auto V on one of the newer consoles or PC after March 6 will no longer be able to carry over their online progress from their old system. The end of the feature means that it will no longer be possible to transfer accounts from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to PC.

GTA V initially only came out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and only later came to the newer consoles and PC. Rockstar has since stopped releasing major updates for the older systems. The last DLC released before that was the Ill-Gotten Gains update in 2015.
